Why does my leopard gecko get red scabs on his side?
He has red spots that look like scabs and i'm wondering if its a parasite or something like that?
It could be mites. You should probably call a vet and have him seen just to be sure. Whatever it is, it doesn't sound normal.
Albino Leopard Gecko's
Since the first designer leopard geckos hatched in 1991, people have been extremely interested in breeding them because of their exciting colors and patterns. Leopard gecko variations including the leucistic, high yellow, and albinos.
There are three different strains to tremper rainwater, when referring to albino leopard geckos. Many people think that the Las Vegas Albino Leopard Gecko is superior. & Bell. The trio of albino varieties are each the result of a recessive genetic trait. It means, if you were to breed a Tremper albino with a Rainwater or Bell albino, all of the babies would be normal looking but not albino.
Specific developmental problems, within animals can be traced to certain genes, which when mutated, become known as a "recessive trait". The traits are random, and there is no way to increase the probability we will discover any newly formed recessive trait. Lots of luck is required to achieve this type of specialized breeding.
It is generally quite hard to distinguish among the three varieties of albino leopard geckos. Normally, it is an educated guess as to which strain an adult albino leopard gecko is. There are three albino stains in leopard geckos . The most common of the three is, tremper stain. To be seen, they were the first of the albino strains. Often this type of albino gecko is in fact brownish in color, categorized at sale as "Mocha". In addition, their color may be either pink or white. The color of an albino leopard gecko ranges from slightly lighter than the normal color of non-albino leopard geckos, to bright red. The temperature at which a gecko is incubated affects its body and eye color. When the incubation temperature is maintained higher, the chances of breeding a leopard gecko that is darker in color is greater.
The Rainwater type of albino is second most widespread of the trio of varieties of albinos. Some believe they are pinker than the other strains, but that is not always the case. The rarest of the albino leopard geckos is the Bell strain. Often than other albino stains, they often have a high contrast, with "pink" areas that are a lot if the time much darker. The Bell albino leopard geckos have the reddest eye of all the three strains of albino leopard geckos. The Bell albino's eye color normally remains red, or pink, even into adulthood. If exposed to bright light, the three strains of albino will close their eyes tightly, because they are sensitive to bright lights. A lot of albinos don't like eat in the daytime because they are sensitive to light.
The more popular, easy care leopard geckos are bred, the greater their color variations. The number of known dominant recessive traits could increase in the period ahead. These unusual animals become all the more unique more quickly through breeding among mutations.
